Part of our new job is to supervise IMB families who do Indigenous work in Guatemala and Mexico. Part of that role includes visiting these families to see where they live, where they work, and to learn how we can best serve them. We made our first trip to Mexico in April. We visited with a total of six families that included eleven MK's, two female Journeymen, and two male Hands On students. We had an amazing trip! The families are all so fun and welcomed us right in. We are excited about getting to work with them and look forward to getting to know each of them better in the days ahead. While we did not take any photos with the families, I did take a ton of random photos as we traveled. Here are some of them.

We did not take the boys with us on this trip. That was not easy for me but worked out fine. There will be times we will take them and times we will not. We had forgotten how easy traveling without kids can be and had a great time by ourselves. The boys were well taken care of and entertained by our Journeyman in Guatemala. I'll post about their time together next.
We flew TAG airlines which is a small Guatemalan airline. We had a direct flight to Oaxaca. It took two hours and twenty minutes.

Hello Oaxaca!
We were only there for the night. We had a ten hour road trip planned for the next day.

After lunch we rode about two hours and twenty minutes up this mountain road.
We stayed two nights in the town of Metlatónoc. This was our wake up call each morning.
While there we enjoyed meals with the families and visiting with each of them. David and the guys spent several hours out making some visits and seeing the work. They have a wonderful team and are doing amazing work! Pray for the church planting progress they are making there and that God would continue to bless all that they do.

Ten hours later we arrived back in the city.
That evening we joined a family for supper in the historic area of Oaxaca. They showed us all around. It was a fun, lively place! We encountered a wedding parade taking place in the street and stopped to watch as it passed. They definitely know how to celebrate.
The next day we had a breakfast, lunch, and supper meal with different families. In between we were taken to El Tule to see the famous tree.

That evening we were back in El Tule for supper with a family. This restaurant is well loved by the missionary community there. We enjoyed getting to eat there.
We had one last breakfast meal meeting before we left for the airport to fly back home.

We were sad that our trip had come to an end but were eager to get back home to our boys and our bed.
