Go Hornets!

One of the things we were looking forward to while being back in the States was catching a few NBA basketball games in New Orleans.  We can't believe it took us two months to finally see one.  We made it a day trip and took Nickey and Jackie with us.  FYI- they are the couple who recently got married and we missed the wedding due to the snowstorm in Virginia.
David, Regina, Jackie, and Nickey

We have always loved watching these games.  It's so much fun and excitement.  We would always go to a few by ourselves and would take our youth group once or twice each season as well.

The Hornets played the Miami Heat.  The Hornets won!!

After the game we drove over to Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee before heading back home.

It was a late night but a most enjoyable one.  We can't wait to go back!

Day trip to New Orleans

Tuesday we spent the day in New Orleans. We used to love to go watch the Hornets play basketball and were excited to learn that they would be playing at home while we were here. We went down early so we could eat and walk around in the French Quarter and then attended the game last night. It was a fun day and night!

We arrived in time to eat lunch at one of our favorite local places- The Camellia Grill.

After lunch we spent several hours walking along the Riverwalk and in the French Quarter

No trip to New Orleans would be complete without a stop by Cafe Du Monde

The Hornets vs. Pacers game

The theme was "Pack the Hive in Pink" for breast cancer awareness.

They handed out pink pom poms to everyone as they entered to shake during the game

The final score was New Orleans Hornets- 101 Indiana Pacers- 96! It was an exciting game.
