Life Lately June 2025

We kicked off June sending the boys to Camp Guamiski.  This is a yearly summer camp for missionary kids whose parents serve in Guatemala.  They look forward to it all year long.  It is definitely one of their favorite annual events! While they are at camp every summer, we spend the week doing annual medical checkups.

This year Ben was on the yellow team and Cruz was on the orange team.

Enjoying my last walk with Betsy until next year. She and I started walking on weekdays back in January and rarely missed a day.  The exercise was great but the fellowship and accountability was my favorite part.

We began packing for our furlough.  On this trip home we took all of our Legos to store in the States.

A sweet friend saw this Coke with my name on it and brought it to me.  It made me smile!

We had several meals with friends during those last days in Guatemala.  On this particular day we met the Jarvis family for a pizza lunch at our local mall.  We also got ice cream before we parted ways.

Mid-month we flew to Panama for a work conference.  It was our last work commitment before we left for the States.

While in Panama, we celebrated Father's Day.

On the closing session Cruz shared with the large group something that God had taught him over the week.  It was a proud moment to see him get up and share.

We returned to Guatemala for about thirty hours.  It was enough time to unpack, wash clothes, and repack before heading back to the airport to fly overnight to the States to begin our Stateside Assignment (furlough).  I'll share about the rest of June in my next post.

Father's Day 2024

David returned home from his London trip around midnight.  We let him sleep in on Father's Day morning.  He woke up to breakfast and gifts.

How cute are these cupcakes from a local bakery?

We all love these Coffee Snaps cookies from San Martin bakery.

Father's Day 2021

David started the day speaking at a brotherhood breakfast at Sardis Baptist Church in Wesson.  He returned home in time to pick us up and get to Sunday service at Central Baptist in Brookhaven.

He loves hot sauce so this was a fun gift for him.

We ate lunch at Cracker Barrel.

We then spent the afternoon swimming and playing at Lake Lincoln State Park.

We stayed until the evening.  It was a fun, relaxing day.

Father's Day 2020

This year Father's Day was very quiet and simple. We were on total lock down for that day meaning no one could leave their property.  It was another special occasion that the corona virus took the joy out of.

Like all special occasions in our home we decorated the night before with balloons and streamers.  It helps start the next day off fun and festive.

The boys gave David homemade cards and some chocolate.  He also got a new coffee pot.

They helped me make a pancake breakfast.

Happy Father's Day

After breakfast we enjoyed watching church online.  Here is Ben coloring during the service.

For lunch we had one of our favorite things, pulled pork sandwiches from Pappy's BBQ.  They are selling these packs of meat precooked and ready to eat or freeze.  We keep several packs in our freezer to enjoy whenever we want.  Pappy's is one of our favorite places in town!

David requested a chocolate chess pie for dessert so that is what I made him.  It's another family favorite.

The rest of the day was spent watching movies and playing.  We took a few more pictures late in the afternoon.

I won't say what it was that made them laugh but as you can see they got very tickled there for a moment.  These pictures make me smile.

This describes David well.  We are thankful for him and all that he does for our family.  We are very blessed!
