Sometime during Christmas break we like to go stay in Guatemala City and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city at Christmastime. Normally it is before Christmas but this year we went for New Year's. We had a guest arriving on New Year's Day so we went a few days early to enjoy some family time before our guest arrived.
Airbnb is big in Guatemala. We would much rather stay in one of those than a hotel when we travel. Plus, they are usually cheaper and offer so much more room. The one we chose for this trip was our favorite so far. It was an apartment in a high-rise building.

It also had a heated pool that the boys really enjoyed.
Their second favorite thing was spending time in the gym. Here is Ben on the treadmill watching one of the bowl games.
We were walking distance to one of the malls. We walked around a while but mostly went to eat at the food court. Ben spotted a shirt and wanted a picture to send to the Stones. If you read our Mission Family Christmas Luncheon post you'll understand why.
One of the boy's Christmas gifts was a visit to a go-cart park in the city. Cruz is smirking here but I can assure you it was his favorite thing about his whole Christmas break. He loved it!
We bought an armband pass and would ride, get off, and then ride again.
It was fun!
Back at our Airbnb we enjoyed an amazing sunset view from the rooftop.
Agua volcano
Here you can see three volcanoes- Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango.
Beautiful!!
Next I'll share about New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
