Christmas Kickoff in Antigua

On December 1 our town kicked off the holiday season with a lighting ceremony in the Central Park. It was a very festive evening.  Town was filled with people and you could feel the excitement in the air.

We arrived a little early to walk around. We especially loved seeing the arch street decorations.

We then grabbed a seat and waited for the countdown to begin.

The announcer led everyone in counting down from 10 and then the park lit up.  It was beautiful!  It was followed by a twelve minute firework show.   What a fun way to start the season.

more of the fireworks

As you can tell from Cruz's reaction, it was quite loud.

Our family loves fireworks!

I wish they would leave the trees decorated all year long.  It makes the park even more beautiful at night.

They had live music playing in the park.  I enjoyed listening to them sing.

Our family soaking in all the fun.
