New Growth
The Baptist church in San Andres Itzapa, Dios es Amor, is working to grow a mission church in El Rosario Xenacoj.  Pastor Apolinario is leading the way.  We have made home and prayer visits several times in this village.

During the month of April, David made a visit there with a leader from the local association to try to help get it recognized as an established mission in the Guatemala Baptist Convention.  Pray for this work, the believers there, and for our small part in helping the gospel spread in that area.
Prayer Retreat
We spent a few days at a prayer retreat with our IMB mission family.  We had a wonderful time of fellowship together praying over each other, our works, our families, and our futures.  We prayed for missionaries past, reflecting on their influence in our lives.  We prayed for those we know within the IMB who are soon retiring.  That includes the Browns, pictured on the right in navy blue.  They will be retiring and leaving the field at the end of the month.  Pray for them as they make this transition.  We also prayed for future missionaries.  The Stones, on the left, will have a young lady arrive this fall to serve with them under the two year Journeyman program. Pray for Lauren as she prepares to come and live in Guatemala.

Our prayer is that God would open doors for others to join us in the work throughout the Americas.  Are you feeling a call to missions or know someone who is?  Visit: www.imb.org/go to explore options and learn about the process.

Summer Sojourners
Speaking of help, our two Summer Sojourners will be arriving on June 3.  They will spend six weeks here working alongside us.  We are getting more excited with each passing day.  Continue to pray for Katelyn and Emily as they finish up their school semester and prepare to come.  Pray that God would prepare all of our hearts as we work together and strive to advance the gospel this summer.
Celebrating
We did a great deal of celebrating during the month of April. In addition to Easter, Ben turned ten and we had our 26th wedding anniversary. To read about each of these and see more photos, scroll through our blog.  There, you can also see other random photos we took during the month of April.
VBS
It is almost VBS time! If your church will be using Lifeway's Spark Studios this summer be sure to look for us on the missions material.  They are featuring our family and Guatemala this year.  How exciting is that!!

In Spark Studios, kids will learn that God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis. The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us–His creation–to the design He planned for us. Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God’s workmanship as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to Him.

Pray for each kid who will be attending a VBS program this summer.  Pray that God would speak to their hearts and draw them closer to Him.

Homeschool

Lastly, we appreciate your prayers as we wrap up our school year in just a few short weeks and prepare for a busy summer ahead.

We are all looking forward to our time off.

We are thankful for the role you play in our work through prayer.  Your prayer partnership is a vital part of our ministry.  Thank you for praying for us!!
