Our 26th Wedding Anniversary

On April 27, we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary.  This year we decided to celebrate it with a fun family trip to Guatemala City.  Here is how we spent the day-

I had flowers and a card waiting on the table for me that morning.  I made banana pancakes for breakfast.

David had a local man make us a fire pit.  It turned out great and was much cheaper than any we have found for sale around here. We cannot wait to use it!

 

 

 

After breakfast, we drove into Guatemala City.  Our first stop was Planet Bowl.  

 

We had one hour of bowling which was enough time to get in two full games.

For lunch, we went to one of my favorite places- TGI Friday's at Majadas.

 

Later that afternoon we made a stop by Krispy Kreme for donuts and coffee.

 

We then checked into this beautiful high-rise building in Zone 15 for the night using Airbnb.  Airbnb is popular in Guatemala and normally cheaper than a hotel.

The boys like staying at Airbnb's because they get their own room.  We like that too!  They are not normally always tidy with their things but Cruz surprised me greatly when I walked into their room and saw how he had unpacked his suitcase.   Maybe I am rubbing off on them.

 

I had baked this chocolate chip cookie cake to take with us.  We enjoyed eating on it during our stay.

That evening we made the five minute drive over to Cayala.

 

It is pretty during the day but even more so at night.

We enjoyed an Italian meal at Tre Fratelli.

After supper we spent more time walking around and enjoying the sights.

 

We especially enjoyed the nighttime views of Guatemala City from our balcony.  It was beautiful and even peaceful. We saw many planes arriving.  It was a fun way to end a most wonderful day.
