When researching for the trip, one of the things the boys asked to do was ride the Mustang Mountain Coaster in Estes Park. As if the day wasn't already long enough with hikes to Nymph, Dream, and Emerald Lake, Alberta Falls, and Sprague Lake, we made it happen late that afternoon.
It was cold and windy when we arrived. We purchased their tickets and off they went. Needless to say, they both loved it!

It's fun to stay at the YMCA!
Lastly, we ended the day back at the beautiful YMCA of the Rockies. We spent three nights there total. Our package included all buffet meals and activities during our stay. We had the best time! It was quiet, peaceful, and felt much like a retreat. It was wonderful!
Did you know they offer getaway packages for teachers, military, faith leaders, foster families and more? Check out YMCA of the Rockies Special Stay Getaways for more details. If you qualify, it's the best deal you'll find in Estes Park.

With the package you get to choose which lodging you want. We chose the Wind River Lodge and loved it. We had a wonderful room and a nice balcony with views of those beautiful snow covered mountains. I hope we get to return someday!
We had one more day ahead of exploring Rocky Mountain National Park. I'll share about our time at Horseshoe Falls next.
