March 2022 Newsletter

Church
During the month of February we attended services at five different churches.  David preached at two of those.  Pray for him as he has opportunities to share God's Word and encourage the churches that we visit.

He made a trip to the Chiquimula area and had a service in Nearar.  He took a local friend with him who led worship.  A group of five from the church are currently taking weekly Bible training classes.  Pray that the classes will help them grow in the Lord and be better equipped to lead the church.  Continue to pray for the Nearar church, the leaders, and the work they are doing to reach their village.
Homeschool
The boys and I have been busy with school.  We recently finished week 26 which means we only have 10 more school weeks to go!  January and February can be some of the hardest months to school but now that we are entering March I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel.  Pray for me as I teach the boys each day.  Pray for wisdom, patience, and energy.  Pray that they would study hard and find joy in their learning.
Don't Mom Alone
Last month I began hosting a weekly gathering of moms whose kids go to Encounter Academy.  It is a podcast club and we meet weekly to discuss the topic.  It has been a blessing to me and hopefully to the other moms as well.  Being a mom on the mission field can be lonely and isolating.  It is exciting to be building a community of moms who can walk this journey together.  Pray for our time together on Wednesday afternoons that it would be uplifting and encouraging.

Mission Family
We gathered with our IMB mission family for a night of food and fun in Guatemala City.  It is always a joyful time when we are able to get together.  Pray for these families and the work they are doing. Two of them not only serving here in Guatemala but in other parts of the world through Send Relief.

Turning 50
I had a milestone birthday in February.  I am thankful for another year of life and look forward to serving the Lord with an even greater determination in the years ahead.  Pray that God would continue to give me opportunities to love on and minister to those around me.  Pray for good health and a fruitful year in ministry.
Intermissions Conference
We ended the month attending the annual Intermissions Conference in beautiful Panajachel, Guatemala.  We spent the weekend with missionaries who serve all over Guatemala.  This year's conference theme was Precious Promises from God. We had four worship services, two workshops, times to network, renew friendships, and make new ones.  It was a wonderful gathering from start to finish.

This year there were fifty-six families in attendance.  There were eighty MK's.  While we were in adult sessions our boys were having a blast with their peers in classes of their own.

This year a team from Highland Baptist in Waco, Texas came down to lead us.  Their pastor, John Durham, did an outstanding job of bringing the messages.  They brought a worship team and volunteers to work with the elementary, middle school, and high school students.  Their church was a blessing to our family and all who attended.
