Grand Teton National Park Day 2 and Our Last Visit to Yellowstone

We woke up in Irwin, Idaho and got on the road early. Like all of our days, we had a lot planned and much to see before the next sunset.

Good morning from Idaho!

We crossed back into Wyoming headed to the park.

I snapped this photo as we drove back through Jackson.

We stopped to take photos at the park entrance sign.

We stopped at a museum gift shop.

They had many cool things on display that was fun to see and touch.

The boys were able to learn a lot about the animals that were in that area.

Here they got to touch fur from the different animals.  That was their favorite.

We visited Mormon Row which I thought was very beautiful!!

It was cloudy that day so the mountain views were not as clear as we would have liked them to be.

We stopped by the Snake River Overlook.

We drove the scenic loop and later stopped for a picnic lunch by the river.

After eating, we left Grand Teton and drove back into Yellowstone.

Our next stop was Old Faithful. We were all excited to see it in person.  We arrived with just a few minutes to spare before it erupted.

It did not disappoint!  What a cool sight to see and experience.

We stopped by the gift shop before getting back on the road.

The boys enjoyed ice cream after shopping.

Biscuit Basin was next on our list.

We then hiked to see Mystic Falls.  It was one of our favorites!

We hiked the Grand Prismatic Overlook Trail.
It was thundering when we got out of the vehicle so thankfully we all grabbed rain jackets.   They came in handy not long after we began the hike.  Just like the day before at Jenny Lake, it stormed!!  In spite of the rain, we completed the hike.  We were a little dryer than the day before bur still quite wet.  It is funny to us now, and provides us with a great memory.

The views of the Grand Prismatic Spring from the overlook were beautiful.

We were so wet and cold!!

As we were driving out of the park we saw a few more bison.  Many claim to get "bison fatigue" because after you see so many it starts to get old.  That was not true for me.  I still got just as excited as I did on the first day.  It really is the coolest thing to see!

We stopped for supper in West Yellowstone and then drove to Island Park, Idaho for the night.

The next day we would be making the long drive to Glacier National Park.  It was probably my favorite park of all.  I will share about our first day in that park next.
