Glacier National Park Day 1

We left Island Park, Idaho in the morning and set out for the long drive to Glacier National Park.  We stopped in Missoula for a picnic lunch at Fort Missoula and let the boys play before getting back on the road.

On the way to Glacier, we stopped by Flathead Lake State Park.

The boys enjoyed getting to play in the water.

The rocks there were so colorful and beautiful!!!

We stopped for supper at Five Guys in Kalispell and then drove into the park.

We walked the Trail of the Cedars.

They were amazed at how big this tree's roots were.

I think the boys favorite part of the whole trip was the times they got to play in the water.

Next, we stopped at lookouts to see a few waterfalls.

We ended the evening with a stop by Lake McDonald.  It was windy but still beautiful.

The rocks there were beautiful too!

The boys enjoyed throwing and skipping the rocks into the water.  That was another favorite thing of theirs on this trip.

We drove back into Kalispell for the night.  We had a beautiful sunset view as we arrived into town.  We stopped to purchase some ponchos.  There was a chance of rain for the next day and we were not taking any chances on getting soaked like the previous two days.  ha

We got to bed late and had a 4:30 a.m. alarm set for the next morning.  If you want to get a parking spot at Logan Pass in Glacier you have to get an early start.  I will share about that amazing day next.
