February 2024 Newsletter

We spent late December and early January on a work trip to Mexico.  We went to visit some of our IMB missionaries that we supervise.  We had a wonderful trip!  We were able to encourage them in the work that they are doing and help them think through some goals for 2024.  If you would like to read a blog post and see photos from our trip visit: Work Trip to Mexico

A highlight from our trip to Mexico was getting to meet the English family in person. After many months of video calls it was wonderful to finally get to talk to them in person.  They are such a sweet family and it made us more eager for their arrival in Guatemala later this year.

Continue to pray for them as they study Spanish and adapt to the culture.

David hosted two IMB missionaries who do theological education and training in the Americas.  They spent a few days meeting with some of the Guatemala Baptist Seminary leaders about future partnerships and ways to work together on seminary training.

We made a trip to Quetzaltenango to have our first team meeting of the year.  We talked about our annual goals and set some team goals for the first quarter.

One of those goals was to make quarterly trips to the Kanjobal area to survey the work for future ministry purposes.  David, Mark, and Gary will be making a trip in late February.

Pray for them to make some great contacts and get a better understanding of what work exists in that area.

During our time in Quetzaltenango, we also had a baby shower for the newest member of our Guatemala IMB mission family.  Little Aurora was born on January 3.  We had a fun time celebrating her! She is the youngest child of Mark and Courtney Robertson, who are our newest IMB missionaries serving in that area.

We are ending the month hosting a mission team from Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS.  They arrived last Saturday and will be here until Friday.

They have been busy making home visits, doing basic medical checkups, having Bible study with children and youth, sharing testimonies, and preaching in two services on Sunday.  They have ministered in three different areas throughout the week.

Pray for the hearts of those who heard the Gospel this week.  Pray that God would continue to work in their lives and draw them to Himself.

How exciting that the Americas currently has over 70 college age students committed to serve on the mission field this summer!

We still have several spots open that need to be filled.  If you or a college age student you know would be interested in serving, here are some places to consider.

Over 59% of the world today is considered unreached. Over 3,000 people groups around the world have no missionary presence and likely no gospel access.  The work of the IMB is not complete. The vision God gives us in Revelation 7:9 fuels our desire to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Your generosity to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering makes way for a growing missionary force amid the unprecedented growth of lostness so that, one day, we will see this multitude from the nations worshiping Jesus.

Thank you for your generous giving to Lottie Moon!!
