At the end of January and early February we hosted a mission team from Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS. Here is a look at how we spent our time together.
the team ready to fly to Guatemala
They arrived late on Saturday afternoon. We got them settled into the hotel, and then enjoyed a delicious pizza supper at the hotel restaurant.
On Sunday morning we were invited to a service in San Rafael. They were having a baby dedication and wanted David to do it.

Bro. Phil preached the morning message.
After the service we gave out basic medicine bags and offered reading glasses to anyone needing them.

On Sunday evening we were invited to be at the Baptist church in San Andres Itzapa for a special birthday service.
There was a church-wide meal following the service. It was delicious!

On Monday the team made morning home visits with Pastor Apolinario.
In the afternoon they offered basic medical checkups at the church.
They spent the next two days in Santo Domingo Xenacoj. Here they are learning to make tortillas with some ladies before making home visits.

We partnered with Argenis and Magda (on the right) who are working with the kids and youth in that area.
They feed the youth on Wednesday nights. The team got to help prepare the meal for them.

On their last day with us we started by taking them to the cross that overlooks Antigua.

We then took them to tour the coffee farm La Azotea.
We visited the market and ended our time together with supper at Pappy's BBQ. It was a wonderful week serving together! We are thankful for this church and this team. They love missions, and we are grateful for the way they love us.
