During our visit to San Cristobal de las Casas, the Richardson family took us on a day trip outing to El Arcotete. It is a beautiful outdoor park within a short drive from their city. They are big rock climbers and took all of their gear on the outing. They made sure we all had a hat and climbing shoes. We were in for a fun adventure!
arriving at the park
It took all of us to help carry the gear in.
It was such a pretty place.
We crossed a swinging bridge to get to the area where they wanted to rock climb.

We went on a short hike. This was one of our views.
While hiking, we spotted Cruz down below. His shirt was red so it was easy to see him.

We watched some others do rock climbing. You can see a guy near the top of this photo. They definitely knew what they were doing!
Cruz coming back down.
Ben had initially said he did not want to climb but he ended up trying. He did great and it was fun to see him face his fear.
Next was David's turn.
Cruz loved it so much he did it twice.
On the second attempt he made it all the way to the marker.
We joked that this outing was a "pain in the neck" because we spent the whole day looking straight up. It was just one of many good laughing opportunities we had that day. It ended up being a wonderful team building activity!
