Baptism
The biggest praise since our last update was the recent baptism of five from the village of Nearar.  This past weekend, David, along with the pastor and two leaders from Iglesia Bautista Canaan in Chimaltenango made the overnight trip to Chiquimula to assist with the service.  In addition to the baptism service, they had a Lord's Supper service and a worship service while there.  It was a very exciting weekend for the church and believers in that area.

The church in Chimaltenango has been partnered with the Nearar work since the beginning.  It was a blessing to have them represented at the baptism.

Pray for these new believers as they continue to be discipled.  Pray that their boldness to accept Christ and be baptized would be an example for others in the village to follow.

Pray for more opportunities like this that we can partner nationals to minister in other parts of Guatemala.

God is Working
We were also able to celebrate the profession of faith of six youth (4 males and 2 females) at a recent Sunday evening worship service at Iglesia Bautista Nazareth in Parramos.  At the end of the service, three came forward to make their professions public.  Before the service ended, three more walked forward to receive Christ.  It was a joyful evening!  These six were also baptized during a special service their church did this past weekend.  Pray for them as well.

It has been exciting to see God moving among the people here.

During March, we hosted friends from Alabama.  We have known the Beardens since our first term on the field.  It was wonderful to have them here with us and show them around.  They were our first guests since Covid.  It is great to be hosting again!

The entry requirements recently changed to enter Guatemala.  As of mid-March, guests are no longer required to have the Covid vaccine in order to visit.  You can now enter with either your vaccine card OR a negative Covid test.  We hope this will make it easier for teams and guests to return.

Come see us!

We are thrilled about an upcoming opportunity to host two college students for six weeks this summer through the IMB's Summer Sojourner program.  The Mississippi Baptists adopted our student request this year.  It is extra exciting to have students from our home State.  Begin praying for Emily and Katelyn who will be joining us in early June. Pray for us as we finalize the details of what they will be doing and lining up a great experience for them.

You can visit our blog at: www.davidandregina.blogspot.com to read about other fun family activities that took place during the month of March.

A lookout view of our beautiful city.
Pray that God would continue to use us to be a light in this part of the world.
