We recently returned home from a magical trip to Walt Disney World. It was incredible and perfect in every way! I had been planning the trip since November 2017, which was when we returned home from our last big Disney trip during our last Stateside Assignment.
The trip was organized by a group called Traveling Homeschoolers. They do a Disney trip for homeschool families every November. They get amazing discounts which is why we like to go with them. This year's package included six day park hopper tickets. Ideally, we would not want to have tickets for that many days but the price was much cheaper than we could have bought four day regular tickets.
Due to having points for free hotel rooms and access to a very discounted condo, we turned the trip into a ten day adventure. We spread our park days out and took days off in between to rest.
My next several posts will be about our trip.
Another way we saved money was driving. We left home at 6:00 a.m. heading out for the long drive to Orlando. We saw this beautiful sunrise along the way. We saw a beautiful sunset along that same stretch of highway on our drive back home. I'll share that later.
I posted this photo on my Facebook page that morning. We were especially excited!!!
We arrived in Orlando that evening. It was cool and rainy. This sign brought a smile to my face.
Ben exploring our hotel lobby while David got us checked in. He was really looking forward to seeing the Star Wars area of Hollywood Studios.
We stayed our first three nights here at the Comfort Suites Maingate East. It was a wonderful hotel. It is close and convenient to the parks. It offers free parking and free breakfast. We had enough reward points to cover all three nights stay.
The rooms are suites. We had a kitchenette and sitting area. It was roomy, spacious, clean, comfortable, and free!!
That night we had KFC for supper in our room.
What I loved most about the free breakfast was that they serve Mickey waffles. They are a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel.
Perfect way to start the day!
Cruz took my photo in the lobby before we headed out for our first park day. This was my shirt for the day. I think it was perfect to start our trip. There is so much planning that goes into a Disney trip. I was overjoyed that all that time spent was about to pay off.
Hello Disney!
We were off to Animal Kingdom bright and early that morning. I will post about that day
next.
