Yellowstone National Park Day 2

Day two was a long day and we covered a lot of ground.  It began with a beautiful sunrise view from our Airbnb porch in Gardiner, MT.

Hello world!

Gardiner, MT

We entered the park early that morning excited about the day ahead.

Our first stop was at Roaring Mountain.

We then set out to hike the south rim trail to see Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Lower Falls of the Yellowstone, and Artist Point.

We all had matching t shirts that day.   When the Masons came to visit us in Guatemala back in 2019 they brought us all matching shirts as a joke.  I felt like this trip was my turn to keep the fun going.

It was a beautiful hike!!

Next we stopped to visit the Mud Volcano.

We then hiked the Storm Point Trail and took in the beautiful views of Yellowstone Lake.

Hiking back to the car.

We left the park late that afternoon and drove to Cody, Wyoming for the night.

We checked in to our Airbnb, unloaded our things, and then headed out for supper.  We enjoyed some Texas style BBQ.

To wrap up the day we had tickets for the Cody Rodeo. We had been looking forward to it for a while.

It was a cool, rainy evening when it started and the wind was blowing hard.  We were so cold!!

Towards the end they call all kids 12 and under to come down to the arena. They let two calves loose with ribbons tied to their tales.  The first kids to grab the ribbons won prizes. It was very entertaining to watch them all run around.

We were all very tired by the time we got to bed.  We had another full day ahead in the Tetons.  I will share about our visit to that national park next.
