In addition to Mother's Day, finishing our school year, and celebrating Cruz's birthday, here is a glimpse at our life over the past few weeks.
Mid-month we hosted a small media team from the IMB and Lifeway. We spent a week together shooting footage for next summer's VBS. We made a quick visit to the Chiquimula area and spent the rest of the time here around Antigua. Below are a few random photos I took throughout that week. I will share a little more details about our visit to the Chiquimula mountains tomorrow in my newsletter.
The last time we were at the hotel in Chiquimula they had just broken ground on a new pool. We were excited to see it completed.
The pools are side by side.
That evening after supper the boys got to swim in it. It has lights that change colors. They loved it!
The next morning before leaving for church Miguel met us at the hotel for breakfast. It is always a blessing to get to spend time with him.
Ben filming some lines in the village after church.
Cruz clowning around at Santo Domingo del Cerro near Antigua.
One morning while filming we took a coffee break at Cafe Barista. Here's Ben about to enjoy a mini pecan pie.
We made a stop by the chocolate museum.
Exploring the ruins at the Santo Domingo hotel.
Walking down the trail from the cross that overlooks Antigua.
Watching the cars pass by from the balcony of Doña Luisa restaurant.

Hey y'all! Lifeway's VBS 2022 is going to be a lot of fun!! Check it out.
Encounter Academy recently had their end of the school year program. The boys were able to participate in it. The last eight week quarter of school they did a drama class. The boys both played God in their parts for the program.
Ben receiving an award for completing his Awana book and verses.
Ben's group presenting a song.
He was very proud of his Awana award.
Cruz made a day trip with David to Guatemala City to run some errands. He loved the one on one time he got that day. David sent me several pictures throughout the day of Cruz. Here he is having breakfast at Denny's. I do not think we have ever eaten at a Denny's in the States but we love to eat it here in Guatemala.
This picture made me smile!
Here is Ben reading one morning after breakfast. They are both doing summer reading. We are looking forward to getting to visit the library when we get to the States. I am sure we will be in and out of it many times while we are home.
This past Saturday afternoon we took our COVID tests. Thankfully we were all negative and are now cleared for travel. Yay!!!
On Sunday afternoon we met some friends for lunch in San Cristobal and then had a fun time playing mini golf. We did not even know this place existed but will definitely want to return in the future.
sweet friends!
We are going to miss hanging out with this crew.
On Monday morning we had breakfast at Cafe Cafe in Antigua. It is a new coffee shop that our friend Jeff recently opened. It is such a cute place! The food is delicious and the coffee is wonderful. If you are in Antigua be sure and stop by for a visit. Tell him the Whites sent you.
After eating, they surprised Cruz with a birthday dessert and singing. He thought that was fun.
They have soft serve ice cream there and it is yummy! Ours was coffee flavor.
Ben being silly after breakfast.
Later that morning Ben attended a birthday party for a sweet friend that lives close by. We are so thankful for friends in this season of life!!! We will miss them all greatly while we are gone.
Now we are busy getting our bags packed and weighed. Our term of service is quickly coming to an end. I somehow convinced the boys to recreate a photo that I have taken of them every Stateside Assignment so far.
2013
2017
