Macadamia Farm Tour

I am going to try to squeeze in a few field trips before the school year ends.  This month's outing was  an afternoon visit to a local macadamia nut farm.  It is only about 10 minutes from home.  The tour is free and was very interesting.

The branches bloom before they produce.  This tree had white blooms.

Another tree had pink blooms.

The machine that takes the shells off.

The sorting machine.

This was their favorite part.

Included in the free tour was also a free mini facial using the macadamia nut oil. It was so relaxing!

We made a visit to the restaurant for an afternoon snack before leaving.  We all split this huge plate of macadamia nut pancakes with white and dark chocolate sauce.

We also tried the macadamia ice cream.

We came home with a pack of chocolate covered nuts that we'll all enjoy.  It was a very fun outing and delicious too!
