He was a little bummed this year that he did not get to celebrate as planned. Like the rest of the world, we are stuck in the house and could not get out and do anything fun. We still made his day as special as we could. Here is a look at how we celebrated this year.
I always put out decorations when they go to sleep on their birthday eve. They love waking up with that Christmas morning excitement. This year he chose a dinosaur theme.
His bedroom door decorations.
They already had that Do Not Enter sign hanging.

He was up bright and early the next morning. We were not able to get out and buy any gifts so he already knew he wouldn't have presents to open. He will get to go shopping when all of this is over. He did ask if we could at least get him some candy. He loves sugar!!! David picked him up a few things from the gas station down the road.
He was happy.

Those dinosaurs were Christmas gifts from David's mom on our last Stateside Assignment. They are currently decorations in their dinosaur themed bedroom. When he chose a dinosaur theme for his birthday I was excited that I could incorporate them into his party. I felt like she had a part in his day. I know she would be proud.

A gift that did not cost us a thing was letting him have the day off from school. As you can see he liked that idea a lot. The fact that his brother still had to do school made it an extra special treat. He got to spend the morning watching his favorites shows and eating a lot of candy.
After lunch we enjoyed cake and dino shaped jello jigglers.

They spent the afternoon watching movies, having Nerf wars, tossing water balloons, and on video calls with family and friends. It was a simple day, but fun-filled.
