Denver Baptist Mission Team September 2019

Last week David had the pleasure of assisting fellow missionary Gary Stone host a volunteer team.  They were a group from Denver Baptist Church in Denver, North Carolina.  Their original plan was to do a medical clinic but they never could get the final approval from the public health department regarding the medicines.  Instead, they did a health fair and still had a great turn out.

They were working in the town of Soloma which is in the Western side of Guatemala.  It is about 10 hours from where we live, in the municipality of Huehuetenango.

They did two days of the health fair and had two evening services.  Several made professions of faith.

It was a great week and a lot of progress was made among a people group that does not currently have a lot of Baptist work.  Pray for Gary as he targets this area and attempts to partner U.S. churches to work there.

lunch at Doña Luisa Xicotencatl in Antigua

The boys and I enjoyed getting to spend time with them on Friday in Antigua.  In addition to a quick morning visit in our home, we joined them for lunch and then a little afternoon shopping.  It was a great fellowship time for me after being home alone all week with the boys.
