Cruz turns 9!

My sweet Cruz turned 9 years old on May 26.  How is it that he is in his last year of single digits???  Oh my how the years have flown by!  He had his birthday during our recent trip to the States. Here is a look at his celebration this year.

This year it was all about Nerf guns and Lego's.

What gift would make him make this face?

He loves writing notes so I could not resist getting him these when I saw them.

His original birthday fell on a Sunday this year.  He wanted to go to the Mississippi Children's Museum to celebrate.  We went to church at FBC Jackson with our friends the Browns that morning so we would already be in town to go to the museum.

After church we went out for birthday lunch at Sal & Mookie's.  Here are the kids watching the pizzas being made through the window.

Arriving at one of his favorite places to visit on every trip to Mississippi- the Mississippi Children's Museum.

They joined a rock painting class.

He had a fun time.  We stayed until almost closing.  I think they covered every square inch of that place.

We returned home and spent the rest of the evening watching a marathon of American Ninja Warrior.  It is one of Cruz's favorite shows.

He is growing up fast.  In spite of the fact that it makes me very sad, I am so very proud of the young man he is becoming.  He keeps me on my toes but also brings me more joy than I could have ever imagined possible.

If I had to count my blessings, getting to be his mom would be at the top of my list.
