It has been a busy month! David did a lot
of scouting in April learning new areas and making new contacts. He now
has all of our areas lined up for our upcoming summer teams. Pray for
us to finalize ministry plans, hotel arrangements, drivers, and
translators.
In addition to scouting, he was also able to
attend a regional pastor's meeting where he met more of the pastors
that work in this area. We are thankful for the contacts that he is
making. Pray that God would show us just the right ones we need to
partner with in the future.
We are giving thanks this month for new
believers at the church in Nearar. One was baptized last month and
three more are being discipled with plans for baptism soon. One of
those new believers was the pastor's teenage daughter whom we have been
praying for. How exciting! Thank you for continuing to pray for the
work there. We miss it greatly but are happy to know that they are
still hard at work trying to reach their community for Christ. Keep
praying for them and all of our former works in the Chiquimula area.
Also in April, Ben had a great time celebrating his 7th birthday. He chose Flash as his theme this year. We celebrated our
23rd anniversary at beautiful Lake Atitlan in Panajachel. We are
thankful for another good year of marriage.
The boys and I have been working hard on
school work. With the exception of some math and reading over the
summer we plan to officially finish our school year this Friday.
Keeping us on track has been a big challenge for me this school year. I
have worked hard at it and am glad to be finishing strong (although a
little fatigued).
This weekend we will be traveling to a Homeschool Conference with some of our IMB missionary families.
We are looking forward to a great time of fellowship, sharing, and
training while there. The boys will spend a few days taking the ITBS
(Iowa) Test. Pray for them and all the other missionary kids who will
be testing next week.
After the conference we will be taking a short vacation back home to
Mississippi. We are looking forward to seeing family and friends.
Please pray for our travels over the next few weeks.
