Bahamas Cruise Day 5 (Last Day At Sea)

Our last cruise day was a sea day.  I could not believe how fast the week had gone by.  We were up early and eagerly awaiting a fun breakfast meal.  We had reservations for a Cat in the Hat themed character breakfast in the main dining room.  We had looked forward to it all week.  The boys were excited about seeing the characters.  I was looking forward to seeing the decorations.  David, well, he was just wanting to eat.

Ben up early enjoying the ocean view from our stateroom window.  That was his favorite spot.  He spent a lot of time sitting there throughout the week enjoying the views.

Green Eggs and Ham breakfast with the Cat in the Hat and Friends

I love fun decorations and this did not disappoint.  It was so cute in there.  I just loved it!

Look at that fun ice sculpture.  So cute!

I had ordered us shirts to wear on this day.  I thought it would be extra fun to go along with the theme.

We did not order it but a guy sitting next to us did. I don't think I could have eaten those green eggs.

During the meal the characters came out one at a time and everyone got a chance to take photos with them.

the kids also got to get autographs (stamps) from each character

It was a super fun way to kick off our last day on the ship.

Next up was another fun activity for the kids.  It was a towel animal puppet show.  After seeing the towel animals in our room each day the boys really enjoyed getting to see them perform.  It was a cute show.

They spent a lot of time on the waterslides, in Camp Ocean, and playing mini golf.  They definitely took advantage of all that was offered to them throughout the week.

me and the boys at the farewell dinner on our last night

That night in Camp Ocean the boys had a pirate themed farewell party.

My boys were so sad to leave that night and tell everyone goodbye.  Getting to participate in Camp Ocean was their favorite thing of all.

David and I spent our last night at sea enjoying the beautiful sunset views.  We also went to the show.

It was so beautiful, quiet, and peaceful.  We do not have many moments like that in our lives these days with two active boys.

And then the next day we woke up to this view.  We were back in Charleston waiting on our turn to get off the ship.  The Masons (our hosts in Mount Pleasant) picked us up and got us back to our car.  They had kept our vehicle to save us parking fees.  We enjoyed a quick visit with them before getting on the road.  We had a long road trip back home ahead of us.  We drove 12 hours that day and arrived late that night.  We were exhausted!

Our trip to South Carolina from start to finish was 16 days.  It was amazing and overall one of the best family trips we have ever taken.  We loved our time in Mount Pleasant with our partner churches.  We loved the sightseeing we were able to do in the Charleston area.  And, we especially loved our time at sea.  We made memories that no one in our family will soon forget.  We are thankful for each person that made these 16 days of travel so special and fun for us.  We look forward to the day we will get to visit there again.
