Bahamas Cruise Day 1

When I finished posting about our trip to South Carolina I mentioned that we had one last grand finale to go.  What I meant was that the next morning when we woke up we packed our things, headed down to the Charleston Cruise Terminal, and boarded a ship bound for the Bahamas.  David and I love to cruise!  It has always been our favorite vacation to take.  Our last cruise we took was back in January 2010 when I was pregnant with Cruz.  We called it our "babymoon".  This was our first time to go with the boys.  It was an amazing trip.  I will try to spend the next few days posting about each of our daily events.

It did not take us long to get through security and once on-board we headed straight to our room.  The boys were so excited about their bunk beds.  They had never seen beds that come down out of the wall before.  They didn't want to leave the room.  They just wanted to stay in there and play.

They were so hyped up and just tickled to actually be on a boat.

You can imagine their excitement when we looked out our window and saw about six dolphins swimming down below.  That was a really cool sight.

We ate lunch and then spent some time exploring the boat getting to know our home for the next few days.  Here is David with a cup of coffee and the beautiful Charleston bridge behind him.

We took a family photo before the ship left port.  Downtown Charleston is in the background.

We played our first of many rounds of mini golf.  This was one of the boys favorite things to do on the boat.

When the time came we headed down to our meeting place for the muster station drill.  This is a mandatory time for all passengers to be briefed on what to do and where to go in case of an emergency.  I never enjoy this part of the day but I know that it is necessary.

Next up was some time on the waterslide.  This was our first cruise that had a waterslide.  I don't think we will be able to go on one now without it.  The slides were on an upper deck all the way at the back of the boat.  It was far away from the regular pools where most of the adults hang out.  It seemed a lot more family friendly than the pool atmosphere.  The boys spent so much time there everyday.  It made the cruise extra fun for them.

We set sail around 4:30 in the afternoon.

Everyone was out on the open decks as we sailed away from Charleston.  The views were so pretty.

The boys especially loved watching the pilot boats lead us out to sea.

My sweet Cruz just giddy about being on a cruise.

We headed to supper that evening in the formal dining room and got to enjoy this beautiful sunset view from our table window.

After eating we skipped all of the nightly activities and all went straight to bed.  We were exhausted!  I think all of the busy activities we had just had in Charleston/ Mount Pleasant finally caught up with us and we were give out.  We all got a great nights sleep and were up the next morning ready for a fun-filled day.  I'll share about Day 2 next.
