We returned home from our anniversary trip last Thursday evening. We were right back in school on Friday morning along with doing a couple of loads of laundry I needed to catch up on. That afternoon we drove into town to buy a birthday gift and to pick up some groceries. We had some new friends coming over for lunch on Saturday and I needed a few things for the meal. While in town we noticed that a circus had arrived. We squealed and made plans to go on Saturday night. Oh how we love the circus!
Around noon on Saturday some friends from a neighboring department drove over to see us. We first met them a few months back while visiting in their area and have kept in touch over facebook ever since. She was expecting their firstborn child at the time and has since given birth to a precious baby girl. We were excited about the opportunity to host them in our home and get to know them a little better. We had a great visit and hope to do it again soon.

When our guests left we ate supper and then headed out to the circus. Some are better than others and this was a good one. My boys have talked about it all week. If we get a chance we just might go back again.

David taught Bible study in the village of Nearar on Sunday morning. That afternoon we attended a birthday party for a sweet little one year old girl that lives across the street. The party took place at the hotel next door and was a lot of fun for everyone.

Isn't that cake adorable!
The party highlight was when the clown arrived. He was very entertaining and had everyone laughing out loud.
There was a lot of jumping, dancing, and singing.
A few of Cruz's faces. He loves parties and always has a blast.
The bubbles were a big hit with the kids. Who doesn't love bubbles?

Here are a few photos of Ben chasing the bubbles. He ran his little heart out.
The clown blew up a lot of balloons for the kids. He also blew up a few large ones for show. He would let them go and the wind would take them off. The kids would chase after them trying to catch them but they all ended up popping before they were caught. The kids did a lot of running at this party which made for a great nights sleep.

The cotton candy was a big hit! and a messy one too.
Each of the kids received a pair of these light up glasses.

She had such a fun party!
We have had a full week of homeschool. Our Wednesday Bible study in Tunuco Arriba was cancelled this week so we had extra time to work on school stuff. On Thursday afternoon we traveled to Muyurco for our weekly Bible study there. We had a good turnout and the study went well. I couldn't resist taking a photo of one of the children who walked around the whole time with a dust mask on his head like a hat. It was so cute.
Isn't he precious!
Afterwards we drove into town for our weekly night out. This week we chose to eat at Taco Bell because it was Cinco de Mayo. We didn't know until we walked in that it was karaoke night. That made for a lively, noisy evening. The boys loved it!

Now hello Friday! I am looking forward to the weekend. We have two Bible studies planned- Lagunetas on Saturday and Nearar on Sunday. It is also Mother's Day weekend. Oh how I love getting to be a mom and I am excited about celebrating that over the next few days. Happy Mother's Day everyone!
