Here are the boys asleep on the way to catch the ferry. They were tired!
Arriving at Dauphin Island. The ferry crosses from Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan, AL.
We arrived and were car #30. The sign said they can take a maximum of 30 but the lady working the line said that there were several large vehicles ahead and that she doubted we would get on. So, we waited. We watched the ferry unload and reload and even doubted ourselves that we would get on. BUT, just before they closed the door the lady came running out and said "I think we can squeeze one more on!" Hurray!!! We made it on and rejoiced (quietly though because both boys were still asleep in the back seat, ha).
The ferry ride is about 45 minutes. I think the boys stayed asleep for the first 30 minutes. I was a little sad about that but was very glad they were getting some rest.
I left them in the car with David and got out to enjoy the views and take a few pictures.
these birds followed close by the whole time
A family standing close-by was feeding the birds cheese popcorn from their hands. I enjoyed watching them.
When the boys finally woke up they joined me on the top deck and loved watching the birds.
