Our Time In Pigeon Forge

We spent Spring Break in the Smoky Mountains.  David and I have always enjoyed going there.  We spent several anniversaries there before we went on the mission field.  It's a beautiful place!  We have always stayed in Gatlinburg but this year instead we booked a cabin outside of Pigeon Forge.  It was waaaaay up on top of a hill and had some pretty amazing views.  We shared it with several members of David's family and it was fun all being there together.   We spent most of our time in the Pigeon Forge area with the exception of one day when we visited Cades Cove and Gatlinburg.  Here are some photos of things we did there.

Our cabin was named "Amazing Place".  It was three stories and had plenty of room for everyone.  The boys thought of it as a big playhouse and Cruz is still asking when we are going back.  I think they could have just stayed at the cabin all week and never left and still had a blast.

We had the master suite.  It had a king size bed (that we shared with Cruz), a jacuzzi, a private balcony, and a beautiful view.

I loved waking up to this view from our bed every morning.  We also loved looking out at night and seeing the lights from all around.

One of our most favorite things about the cabin was the hot tub.  We spent a lot of time in there with the kids.  They thought of it as a small pool.  We got in there every night after supper and at least once during the day.

I spent one day out and about with my sister-in-law Robin and our nephew Sawyer.  We visited a few attractions in Pigeon Forge.  Here we are on top of the Hollywood Wax Museum.  The views from up there were very pretty.

In addition to visiting the Hollywood Wax Museum we also went to the Castle of Chaos where we got to do a 5D laser tag game.  One of my favorite things was Hannah's Maze of Mirrors.  It was like going in the Glass House at the fair except all the walls were mirrors.  It was quite an adventure trying to find our way out but I thought it was such fun.  We visited the (very busy) Outlet Mall and the Apple Barn stores and especially liked the candy store.  Sawyer went indoor skydiving.  We had a delicious lunch at Cheddar's.  It was a fun time together.  David, Memaw, and Aunt Libby took the kids to a local park to play while we were out "playing".

It was highly recommended that we visit the Dixie Stampede so we made sure to set aside a night to go see it.  It was our first time and we loved it.  Cruz especially, he loved every minute of it.  He has been reenacting it ever since.  I think I enjoyed watching him enjoy it more than anything.  We all laughed a lot.

Photos from the Dixie Stampede.   We stopped by the gift shop and bought Cruz and Larsen hats to wear before we went inside to find our seats.  They were cute!

My most favorite thing of all that we did that week was the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster.  It is a new attraction in Pigeon Forge.   The ride takes you slowly up the track to the top of the mountain and then lets you go and you glide down (at your own pace) to the bottom.  As you can imagine Cruz and I went down full speed and he was screaming "faster, faster" the whole time.    We LOVED it and it will definitely be on our list of things to do if we ever get back up that way.  I highly recommend it.
one of the funnest things I've ever done

As you can already see we had a pretty fun time on our trip there but that's not all.  We had more fun and adventure as well and I'll post those pics next.
