Our Visit With The Stoudenmire's

Last weekend we enjoyed a visit from our friends Allen and Laurelle Stoudenmire.  We have been friends with them since the day we arrived on the mission field.  They were part of the welcoming crew who greeted us when we got off the plane our very first day in Guatemala.  We instantly became friends with them and have continued ever since even though they are no longer on the mission field.  We miss them being around and treasure those times we had together with them while they were here!

They arrived last Saturday evening and stayed two nights with us.

On Sunday morning we took them up the mountain to our Bible study.  It was another COLD Sunday morning up there.  We enjoyed getting to show them where we are working and let them see first hand some of the people we are working with.   I think they enjoyed it also.

We came home, ate lunch, took naps, and then spent the rest of the afternoon visiting.  We ate supper, put the kids to bed, and then played Phase 10.  It was a fun day!

Monday morning we showed them around our town and the neighboring town of Jocotan.  We picked Cruz up after school and then headed into Chiquimula.  We ate lunch at Pollo Campero and were joined by our new friends Josh and Jessica Byrd.  The Byrd's are from Alabama like the Stoudenmire's so we thought it would be good for them to visit and get to know each other.  They knew a lot of the same places and people so it was a good connection for both of them.

Afterwards we drove them to Zacapa where they were doing some final preparations for a team they had coming in on Tuesday.  They have spent the last week doing a medical clinic in a village near Zacapa.  We plan to see them one more time for lunch today before they return to the States tomorrow.  We are so glad they were able to come a few days early and spend some time with us.  It was a treat for all four of us!
