Tuesday morning we decided to get out and have a little outdoor activity. The weather has been very pleasant in Guatemala City while here. It has been spring like- not too hot and not too cold. We have enjoyed it because we know when we return home it will be miserably hot again there. We took Cruz to a local park to let him play, run, and get some exercise. I think the fresh air and walking around outdoors did us all some good. We had fun, and enjoyed watching him have a good time.
We stopped by a local coffee shop on our way there and picked up a regular coffee for David and a decaf caramel frappe for me. That was a treat!
I love to see a smile on his face.
It looks like he is plotting what he can get in to next, haha
From here he would wave and shout "hola" to everyone that passed by.
Little brother Ben slept the whole time we were there. I enjoyed strolling him around.
We did not realize until we got out and saw that there was very little traffic and people around that it was a holiday here. It was Labor Day so that made it a good day to be out. Normally there are horses in the park on the weekends, and we have taken Cruz one other time to ride. We were happy to see them there yesterday and let Cruz ride two times around the block. He loved it and told us all afternoon "Cruz horse". In his language that means "Cruz rode the horse".
There were about ten horses to choose from. You might think he would have been a little nervous to walk up among them, but he was not at all. He looked them over and walked up to the one he wanted to ride. He put his arms up in the air as if to say "saddle me up!" The worker put him on, got him strapped, and away he went.
He really loves horses!
Afterwards we ate lunch at Burger King and let him play a while on the play land. He was pretty tired by the time we left. That meant when we got home it was perfect timing for a long afternoon nap. I nursed the baby, and then we all layed down. It was a great way to end a fun family day.
Ahhh!!!
Loved reading about your day! What a big boy Cruz is! And that sweet dark-haired baby Ben...what a doll! Hope you're all continuing to adjust well. =)
