Greetings from Guatemala! Well, he arrived. Benjamin Miller White officially joined our family on Monday, April 16. He was born at 10:55 a.m. He weighed 7.13, and was 20 inches long. Both he and I are doing great. We appreciate all of your prayers for us during the pregnancy, delivery, and recovery time. We have felt them greatly!
We have spent the majority of the month in Guatemala City and plan to be here a few more days before returning to our home. We are anxious to get home and get settled. Please pray for us as we transition as a family of four back to our work and area.
Our former supervisor, Jim McGriff, will be returning to Guatemala along with his brother-in-law, David McGowin, to hold some leadership training classes for the Kekchi pastors. They will be joined by Wendall and Jane Parker and Fran Eachus. Please be in prayer for these training sessions that will take place May 8-9 in Las Casas, May 10-11 in Sayaxche, and May 14-15 in Coban. Later this month David will be helping with a team that will be in our area on the 21st and 22nd. Cruz will celebrate his 2nd birthday on the 26th. We cannot believe it has been two years since he was born! The last week of the month we will be attending an Indigenous Summit in Sayaxche. This will be for Indigenous people from Guatemala and neighboring countries to get together for fellowship, worship, and to encourage them to reach out to other people groups with the gospel. Please be in prayer for this three day meeting!
On the 27th of April we celebrated our sixteenth wedding anniversary. It was a time for us to reflect on all the ways the Lord has blessed us over the years. One of those ways was calling us and allowing us to serve Him on the mission field. We are honored by that calling, and are grateful to be able to serve. We are also grateful that you desire to be a part of our ministry by praying for us. We cannot tell you enough what that means to us, and how thankful we are that you pray for us.
