August 2022 Newsletter

Our team with Pastor Apolinario in San Andres Itzapa
Serving Together
We recently hosted a volunteer team from The Church at LifePark in Mt. Pleasant, SC.  We partnered with two local pastors and worked in their communities.  We made many home visits encouraging believers, sharing the gospel with the lost, and offering comfort and support to many who were hurting.

As we listened to the needs of those we encountered, at times our hearts were heavy.  There are so many struggling who just need to know that someone cares.  The team did a fantastic job of sharing personal testimony stories and scripture verses. We are thankful for each home the Lord led us to and the way He used each of us to love on the people.

Thank you for praying for our team. It was a great week of being on mission together. Many lives were touched as a result of their coming and sharing.
New Believer
During one home visit with our team we met this 21 year old girl.  She had recently had surgery and was home recovering. We went to pray with her and during our time of conversation the gospel was shared and she prayed to accept Christ.  What a blessing that was for each of us to experience!

Our family recently made a follow-up visit with her to check on her.  Her parents (who are not believers) were both home and it gave us a wonderful opportunity to share with them.

Pray for her to grow in her faith and that her family will come to know the Lord as well.

Summer Sojourners
After six wonderful weeks, we said goodbye to our two Summer Sojourner students.  It was hard to let them go! We are very thankful for their servant hearts and willingness to spend their summer break being on mission. They served well and left a big impact on many including our family.

Pray for them as they return to college this fall that God would continue to use them there on their campuses. Pray that He would use their stories and experiences from this summer to call others to go serve.

Are you or someone you know interested in being a Summer Sojourner in 2023?  Next year's program will be a shorter term.  The dates are May 22- June 22.  Requests are being submitted now for students to serve all over the Americas.  Is God calling you to go?  Visit

Parramos Bible Study
Since Mid-May, the Baptist church in Parramos has been doing a weekly Bible study and outreach for women and children.  Our family has been able to participate in all but a few of those weeks. This past Saturday was the closing service for that twelve week study.  They had a wonderful program and each age group presented something that they had learned.

At the end, they recognized fourteen who had made professions of faith during the study.  What a joy to see so many coming to the Lord.  They will continue to be discipled and there are plans for a baptism service in November.

Pray for these new believers as they grow in their faith and understand more about being a follower of Christ.  Pray that God would use them greatly to impact their schools, homes, and community.

Back to School
It is back to school time for me and the boys. We had our first day last Friday.  Pray for a great school year for us and that they would grow in knowledge and wisdom this next year.

Traveling
In August, David will be traveling for an extended time to attend some training.  Pray for him as he travels and for his time of learning.

Your Prayers Matter
As always, we covet your prayers over our lives and ministry.  We are very humbled to have you alongside us in ministry as prayer partners.  Your role in praying gives us great encouragement
. Thank you!
