January 2018 Newsletter

Happy New Year!!!
We had a wonderful holiday season.  We especially enjoyed the cooler climate of Antigua and several holiday themed activities to participate in that made the season extra fun and special.
Our last day of school before Christmas break. We were all excited!
We also enjoyed a much needed two week break from school.  We will begin the second semester of 1st and 3rd grade today.  Pray God's blessings over our homeschool time.  This semester is going to be extra busy for me trying to juggle our school and work schedules.  Pray that I will balance it well.
Company is coming!
We are excited about hosting our first team of the year. They arrive on January 13.  It will be a small team from First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.  It will be the first of three teams that their church will be sending down this year.  We plan to return to the Chiquimula area with them to follow up on the work.  Pray for a productive week together as we encourage the believers and seek to make disciples for Christ.

At the end of the month my mom will be flying down for a visit.  We look forward to having her here and showing her around our new home area.
We are excited about our new role with Americas Connect and the opportunities that it is going to provide for us to partner with churches in the future.

The mission of Americas Connect is to connect and equip national and US churches with entry-level ministry opportunities in Central America and the Caribbean that opens doors to sharing the Gospel, addressing human needs, and moving Southern Baptist churches to deeper missions engagement in the Americas and beyond.  It is geared towards churches or church members who are getting started in international missions.

Currently there are opportunities available to serve in Panama and Costa Rica through Americas Connect.  Our new role will open opportunities to serve here in Guatemala.

Is God leading you or your church to get involved in international missions? If so, we would love to help you take that first step.  You can visit www.imb.org/goamericas for more information.  We are currently working on getting some Guatemala dates for 2019 posted to the website.  We hope to have that done soon.
Thank you for praying for our family and the work that we are doing here in Guatemala.  We are honored to have you alongside us as prayer partners.
