May 2010 Newsletter

Greetings from Guatemala! We've been back almost six weeks now. Time is passing fast. During this time we lived a week and 1/2 in Guatemala City, two weeks with a Guatemalan host family, and have now been living in our own apartment for two weeks. We are glad to be getting settled back in and are having a great adjustment.

Our main and first priority for the month of April was language school. We have completed our first month of study and it is going well. I will admit that there are days we want to pull our hair out, but for the most part it has been enjoyable. Please pray for our continued grasp and understanding of the language. I hope to get in two, maybe three more weeks before the baby comes.

Speaking of the baby, he is doing well. He is growing rapidly now and reminds me often that he is still there, through his "gentle" nudges. I've had two check-ups since returning and have another one this coming Wednesday, May 5. I will also have an ultrasound on that day. On Monday, May 3 we have an appointment to meet our pediatrician. Please pray that both of these appointments go well. Our due date is June 2 but I can't help but think that by the time we write our next update that he just might be here! We are getting more excited by the day and can't wait for his arrival.

We appreciate your prayers for us and ask for your continued prayer, especially in the next few weeks to come as we prepare for a lot of change and adjustment as a family of three. Until next time...

Sending our love,
David and Regina
