Macaw Mountain Copan, Honduras

We recently made a visit to Copan, Honduras to meet with a local pastor. While there, we stopped by Macaw Mountain to see the beautiful birds.

In year's past they let you hold the birds, but they no longer allow that. They said it causes too much stress for them. Now you just stand in front of them for photos.

When we lived in the Chiquimula department of Guatemala, we traveled often to Copan for work.  We made several visits to the bird park during those years. Because you know how I loved to reminisce, here are some highlights of past visits.

Our first visit to the bird park was in February 2012.  We had just moved to the Chiquimula area from the Peten and had driven over to Honduras to meet with our ministry partner, Dan.  Cruz was 21 months old, and I was seven months pregnant with Ben.

We spent New Year's Eve in Copan that year.  We visited the park on New Year's Day 2013.  Cruz was two and Ben was eight months old.

Ben has always loved the birds!

I'll share more photos from our time in Copan next.
