We
spent most of July on vacation in Mississippi. We had a wonderful time
there with family and friends. It was good to take some time off to
get refreshed. It was our mid-term break. We had spent a year and a
half on the field and have another year and a half to go before our next
planned Stateside Assignment.
Pray that we would have a clear vision of what the Lord would have us focus on during the second half of this term.
Flying home to the U.S.A. on the 4th of July.
A beautiful Mississippi sunset
We returned home to Guatemala
and started the new school year. The boys are in 6th and 8th grade.
We are off to a great start but would appreciate your prayers for our
school year.
We also returned home in time to celebrate David's 50th birthday.
We have enjoyed spending time
with our IMB Guatemala mission family this past month. We made a
weekend visit to Quetzaltenango to see them. Our new family, the
Robertsons, are getting settled in there and seem to be adjusting well.
They are a sweet family and we are happy to have them serving here.
Pray for their continued adjustment to life and ministry in Guatemala.
We gathered again for a farewell luncheon for another IMB family, the
Waldraffs, who will be transferring to another country later this
month. We are sad to see them go! Pray for them as they transition and
learn to do life in a new area.
The English family will finish up their
training mid-month and will head to Mexico for language school in early
October. They will spend a year there before officially moving to
Guatemala in the fall of 2024. They will have a lot of transition over
the next several months and would appreciate your prayers.
David will be preaching in two services this first Sunday in September. Pray that God would speak through him as he shares.
We will be in several different churches throughout the month. Pray
that God would use us in each to be an encouragement and bring honor to
His name.
Thank you for praying for our family. We are grateful for each of you.
