Hoover Dam (Road Trip out West Post 2)

If you read Post 1 you know that we got to bed in the early morning hours.  I set an alarm on my phone hoping we would sleep until mid-morning.  Instead, we were all up by 8:00.  We ate breakfast at our hotel, packed up, and got on the road.  We drove out of Las Vegas towards the Hoover Dam.

We stopped along the way at this overlook.

Next, we drove to the Hoover Dam.  It was quite amazing and much more beautiful than I had anticipated.

Due to COVID, they are still not open for tours.  We kept an eye on it hoping they would open back up before our trip.  We would have loved to see the inside! Instead, we enjoyed getting to walk around and explore the outside.

The water was beautiful!

Nevada on one side and Arizona on the other. The boys thought that was really cool.

When we finished looking around below we walked up to the bridge and enjoyed the views from above.

It was high and very windy!!

We got back on the road and started our drive through Arizona. Our final destination for that day was Williams.  We made a stop in Kingman and along Route 66 in Seligman and I'll share about that next.

That all night of travel was catching up with them.
