I had no idea what a beautiful State Utah was!!! It is gorgeous! I had planned to help David drive on this trip but I was too busy looking around at all of the scenery (and taking pictures). There is no way I could have safely kept my eyes on the road. ha
This was a fun sight to see.
We arrived at our hotel (Best Western Ruby's Inn) mid-afternoon. We checked in, unloaded the car, and then drove into the park. The hotel is just about a mile from the park entrance.
Hello Bryce Canyon!! It is a beautiful place to see.
We made a stop by the park ranger's station to pick up our Junior Ranger books. The boys loved earning their park ranger badges.
Our goal for day 1 in the park was to drive through and stop at several of the lookouts.
The boys spotted snow on the ground and ran to play in it.
My favorite thing about this park was the smell. I know that sounds crazy, but it smelled and felt like fall to me. It just made me feel all warm and cozy inside. I loved it there!
me and my boy loving the great outdoors!
more snow that had not melted
That evening we ate supper at this restaurant on the hotel property. We then let the boys enjoy the indoor pool.
A hotel view walking back to our room that evening. It doesn't get dark there until late. That was a weird adjustment for us (because it gets dark early in Guatemala year round).
The next day we spent the morning hiking in Bryce Canyon and then drove on to Zion National Park that afternoon. I'll share about those amazing experiences next.
