This month's field trip was to a local avocado farm. It's in the town of San Mateo Milpas Altas which is less than 30 minutes from our house. I have been wanting to visit it since we moved to Antigua but we have just never made it happen. This week we finally did. Yay!! Here is a look at our fun, afternoon outing.
hanging out while we waited for the tour to begin
David and I never ate avocados until we moved to Guatemala. Now we love them and eat them often. The boys have been eating them since they were babies and love them too.
A poinsettia tree still blooming
Hiking through the farm. They have over 1,000 avocado trees on the property. We learned a lot of interesting facts along the way.We finished the outing with a visit to the restaurant. Avocado ice cream was included with the tour.
It was frozen on a stick and covered in chocolate and coconut shavings. David really enjoyed it (the boys and I not so much).
We ordered a few things to eat and also this avocado smoothie.
Aren't these cute?
We had a great time and we look forward to returning again one day. Maybe you can join us.
