October 2020 Newsletter

Things Are Changing Fast
Much has changed since our last update.  While we still have some restrictions in place, most have been removed.  The airport opened mid-September.  The State of Calamity is expiring soon and will not be extended.   Things are definitely getting back to a somewhat normal state.

Pastoral Care
David has been able to visit with several pastors lately.  Many are starting to hold services again but with limitations.  Pray for the pastors to have wisdom in making decisions for their congregations.  They want to meet but they want their people to stay healthy at the same time.  It is a struggle that I am certain pastors all over the world are having.  May we all commit to pray for and encourage the pastors that we know.
Feeding Projects

We recently finished up all of our current feeding projects.  We are thankful for being able to help so many during this pandemic time.  The boys got to help make food bags and went with us to drop them off.  That brought them a lot of joy.  We took them to a local pastor and he, in turn, distributed them to his community.

Global Hunger Sunday
October 11 is Global Hunger Sunday.  Listen below as Dr. Chitwood explains more.
If you would like to give online you can visit Global Hunger Relief to make a donation.

Global Hunger Relief uses 100% of all contributions to feed hungry people. Twenty cents of every dollar are sent to the North American Mission Board. These funds are used to support hunger projects in the United States and Canada. Eighty cents of every dollar are sent to the International Mission Board. These funds are used for direct hunger ministry as well as water well drilling, agricultural education, water purification, etc. By giving, you can make a difference in the life of someone in need.

Family Update

Most of my time revolves around homeschool.  These two are keeping me busy these days!  Pray that God would give me sufficient energy, wisdom, and patience to do it well.

Pray for David as he travels this month.  In addition to locally, he will also be making a quick trip to Chiquimula (our former work area).  Pray that the visits he makes this month will be impactful.

14 Years and Counting
Our family celebrating Guatemala's Independence Day this past month.
October 24th marks our 14th year of service with the IMB.  We are thankful to get to serve in a country that we love so much.  We could not do it without your prayers and support.  Thank you for giving to the IMB!  Most importantly, thank you for praying for us all these years!  You all are the wind beneath our wings.
