The Whites Update
February 2018
We
had a slight change of plans since our last update. In our January
newsletter we were getting ready to return to Guatemala. I did not get
medical clearance and we were delayed. Instead, I spent the month
having some medical tests and blood work done. We are currently still
in the States.
On Monday of this week I had my follow-up appointment. All of my tests
came back clear and I was released from my doctor. We submitted the
results to our mission medical department and I have now been given
clearance by them to return to the mission field. That was awesome news
to hear. We are now checking flights and making arrangements to go
back. We plan to do that mid-month.
Pray for us as we begin to pack, say our goodbyes, and return to
Guatemala. We are excited to get back to our ministry there but at the
same time our hearts are heavy to leave family and friends behind. It
is very bitter sweet. |

Some
highlights of the past month include taking the boys to a Monster Jam
event, attending a local circus, spending the afternoon on a farm with
some homeschool friends, numerous trips to the local library, another
snow day, and more opportunities to attend worship with family and
friends. In spite of our setback it was a good month.

We were excited to
receive this photo recently of the church building in Nearar. We are
ready to get back and worship with our group there. Pray for this
village and that the work there would grow.
Continue to pray also for the village of Muyurco that we would be able
to find an alternate meeting place and continue our weekly Bible study
there.
We are anxious to get back and revisit all of the villages that we were
targeting. Pray for us as we begin to do that later this month. Pray
that we would see progress and have a clear vision for going forward in
each of those areas.

Hopefully
our next update will be from Guatemala. We look forward to having you
alongside us in prayer as we return and get back to the work that God
has called us to do. It is a joy and honor to go and serve. Thank you
Southern Baptists for making it possible.
I'll pray for you! Happy that you received medical clearance. I was looking over my old OLD blog (I have a newer one now!), and saw your comment. I want to reconnect with some of my blog commenters from years gone by!
