Greetings from Guatemala!
It's full steam ahead as we do our part to help advance the gospel here
in Eastern Guatemala. We are continuing our weekly Bible study times
and they are going well. Please continue to lift our Bible study times
up in prayer. We are in Muyurco every Thursday afternoon. We have
Bible study in Lagunetas every other Saturday morning, and David leads
Bible study in Nearar every Sunday morning. We are excited about
getting the Bible study with the school kids in Tunuco Arriba back going
this month. We will start again there on March 9th. Please be praying
for this Bible study that will take place every Wednesday morning in
the village school. Pray for us as we prepare and teach on a weekly
basis in these areas. Pray for us as we travel up and down the mountain
roads many hours each week. Pray for the people that God puts in our
paths along the way. Pray that our witness would be bold and strong
with them. Pray that many would put their faith and trust in the Lord
Jesus Christ as a result of having the gospel shared with them.
We
had a wonderful week hosting a group from LifePark Church in Mount Pleasant, SC. They were the first of three teams that this church is
sending down to work with us this year. We partnered with a local
Baptist pastor, Bro. Elias, and did a one day leadership training
conference at his church for any local pastors and leaders. We had a
great turnout and felt like the Lord's blessing was on the day. The team
spent two days in the village of Lagunetas. We were given permission
to be in the school and teach the kids Bible stories during their recess
time. In addition to the Bible stories the team sang Bible songs and
played games with them. In the afternoons the team made home visits.
They prayed for the needs of the people in the homes and shared
testimonies and Bible stories with them. On our last ministry day we
spent the morning in the village of Churischan encouraging a family of
believers there. Then in the afternoon the team joined us at our weekly
Bible study in the village of Muyurco. We covered a lot of ground in a
week and felt that a lot of opportunities were open for us to return
and share the Gospel.
I
have not mentioned it in a while but our homeschooling is going well. I
know that many of you pray for that on a regular basis and we
appreciate it. It has been a joy to see Cruz begin to read and watching
him learn has been a blessing to us both. Pray for us as we balance
school, family life, and ministry. As you can imagine it can get a
little crazy at times.
March
will find us mostly focusing on our weekly Bible studies and doing
follow-up from our recent team. We are looking forward to hosting some
friends from home for a Spring Break fun week. We are also looking
forward to celebrating the Easter season and sharing about the death and
resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because He lives we can face tomorrow.
What an encouraging word we get to share. Pray that we would share it
well!
