Our internet service has been TERRIBLE lately. We have had a service guy come out twice to check on it. Our power was out for a whole day too which didn't help the situation. We had trouble with our air unit in our bedroom and had to have a service guy come repair it too. It's just been one thing after another. And don't even get me started about the weather. Oh my, it has been hot here lately. It's always hot here but it has just felt hotter than normal for this time of the year. One afternoon last week I checked and it was 102. I'm certain it was just as hot the day the power was out (or at least it sure felt like it, ha).
On Thursday afternoon we had Bible study in the village of Muyurco. It is a highlight of my week! There is an upcoming baptism service planned for the new believers from the villages of Muyurco and Porto Suelo. How exciting to have people accept Christ and follow Him in believers baptism!!! Would you continue to pray for these new believers and pray for us as we help disciple them.
these area just two of the ones who will be baptized soon
On Friday afternoon we hooked up an inflatable toy we found in our storeroom that we had forgotten we even had. We brought it back from the States (last June) and must have stored it away and forgot about it. The boys were thrilled to get to play with it!
The ball spins and slings water everywhere. What a fun way to cool off on a hot afternoon.
Here is a short video of them playing in the water.
I snapped this photo of them on Saturday morning while I cooked breakfast. I thought it was so sweet to see them sitting together and Cruz "reading" to his little brother.
We got a little rain on Saturday evening so we all went outside under the carport and watched it. Don't you just love the sound of rain! The boys got a little restless and as you'll see from the video below they came up with a great plan to entertain themselves.
Life is never dull around here thanks to these two.
Ben playing in the rain on Saturday evening. He was showing me his muscles. He is such a tiny little thing but thinks he is as big and strong as the Hulk.
Cruz is my silly little entertainer. He is always putting on a show.
Later that night we headed back inside to watch a little football game. I had been anticipating it all week long and I was not disappointed. What an exciting game it turned out to be! Did you happen to see the Ole Miss vs. Alabama game on Saturday night? If not you missed a GOOD one! We were cheering our Mississippi team on to victory all the way from Guatemala.
Cruz took our photo curled up on the couch watching the ballgame on our computer. Most of the game.....went......like.......this.......because our service was sooooooo slow but it didn't keep us from watching it anyway.
And if the bad internet service didn't drive us crazy enough there were two other little things on hand to help keep us frazzled. Let me just say we enjoyed the second half of the game better than the first half (thanks to bedtime, ha).
Sunday morning David led Bible study in the village of Nearar. While he was gone the boys helped me do some cooking.
Who doesn't love to lick the beaters?
Our Sunday lunch consisted of poppyseed chicken, carrot souffle, macaroni and cheese, and a blueberry cobbler with ice cream. It was delicious!
Late that afternoon we took the boys to the mall to play and get out of the house for a while. When we arrived and parked we noticed a new exhibit being constructed in the back parking lot. We went to check it out and it's a dinosaur exhibit that is scheduled to open this weekend. It is supposed to be here for around six weeks so I'm certain we will be taking the boys to see it soon.
You think they are excited about that? You bet!
My little guys love dinosaurs!
We purchased them some tokens and let them ride a few things in the mall. I love Ben's face here as he rode the motorcycle. He was really getting into it!
another game they enjoyed playing
So that wrapped up our Sunday evening and our weekend. We grabbed supper at McDonald's before heading back home and getting ready for bed. We didn't do much over the weekend but in spite of that I was really tired. It didn't help either that I stayed up until 1:00 a.m. the night before watching the ballgame. We were all in bed and asleep early on Sunday night. Monday morning school was rolling around and in spite of being tired I had to be up and ready.
