A Night Of Missions

On Wednesday night we were invited to be a part of a celebration service at Arlington Baptist Church outside of Brookhaven.  They were celebrating the anniversary of WMU (Women's Missionary Union) and GA (Girls in Action).   Each of their missions classes were recognized including their leaders.  This church has a lot of young people.

The GA girls did a little presentation. It was sweet. GA and Acteens are special to my heart.

David and I were the main part of the program.  We shared some of our testimony and call to missions.  We also shared about how the Lord is using us on the mission field in Guatemala.  I love sharing with others what the Lord has done and is doing in our lives!

Here we are with some of the youth and children that were there to hear us.

Afterwards we all went into the Fellowship Hall for refreshments.  The family that owns the bakery in town (Janie's Bakery) attends that church.  They provided cupcakes and cookies for the celebration.  The cupcakes had flags from around the world stuck in them and the cookies were flag shaped and decorated like the different flags.  I loved that!

Janie's is famous for their cookies.

Here I am with Mrs. Martha who got in touch with us to come.  David had initially met her at an Associational Executive Meeting last month.  When she learned that we were in Brookhaven she immediately called to have us be a part of this program.  I am glad she did.  It was wonderful!

Everybody isn't called to live on the mission field so I am very thankful for those back home who faithfully promote it and teach it in our local churches.  Knowing that we are being prayed for is a huge encouragement to us and our other missionaries all over the world.
