Greetings from Guatemala! Happy Labor Day! We
hope each of you have a fun, safe day of celebrating. One of the things we are
most looking forward to about our upcoming Stateside Assignment is getting to
spend a few of the holidays with our friends and family. That will be fun! We
only have 11 more weeks until we are homeward bound. I have already been busy
trying to prepare for that. Our tickets are booked. We have our housing and
vehicle lined up. I have many lists started including a grocery list and a
Christmas list (I am just a little OCD like that). We are working on getting
our speaking engagements lined up. Now if I could just finish our
Powerpoint, our video, and make a new prayer card I'll breath a little
easier.
We are putting off trying to get
a new work started in Tunuco Arriba before we leave. The second attempt of
doing an agricultural training with them was once again cancelled at the last
minute. It is obvious that we are going to have to go in there and build some
strong relationships with this village before they are going to trust us and
allow us to work with them. We will attempt to make a few more visits with
them before we leave, but for now will just have them on the top of our prayer
list. We will be promoting them as a prayer need while on Stateside and
hopefully with the prayers of many the doors will open for us to work there
after we return to Guatemala. Would you pray for God to soften the hearts of
these people?
Our two Bible studies are going
well. It is hard to think about being gone for a while and not being able to
see them and teach them. We will miss our time of sharing while away, but we
will be trusting God's Spirit to continue to minister to the people and draw
them to Himself while we are gone.
Please pray for us to
finish strong over the next few weeks. Pray that we would stay focused, and
take advantage of everyday we have to be a lighthouse in this area. It is an
honor to be called and a blessing to serve. God is Good!
