On our way home from Coban we made plans to stop overnight and spend a little time swimming and playing to celebrate Father's Day. We had wanted to stay at a new place in El Rancho but when we arrived to check in they told us they did not have any rooms. That was surprising considering the area and the fact that no one was there at the time. Maybe they had a group coming in later that day, who knows. So instead we headed on down the road and decided to stay at the Longarone. It happens to be the same place we stayed at last year to celebrate Father's Day. I like tradition so it ended up being perfect. We had a great time, and the kids loved it.
As soon as we checked in we got dressed and headed straight to the pool. We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and relaxing there. Both boys loved going down the water slide!
David and Ben coming down the water slide
Cruz getting ready to jump off the diving board
Cruz loved this slide the most. "It goes fast" he would say.
Daddy and his boys
After supper we spent some time letting the kids play on the playground area. We then got dressed for bed and were all asleep early.
Waking up on Father's Day morning.
a little something for daddy to open
"look, daddy, I made that for you"
I plan to get this framed
After breakfast Cruz and I went for a little walk around the property while Ben napped and David chilled out in the room.
David and Cruz went for another swim before we checked out.
Our family picture on Father's Day 2013
I posted this comparison picture on facebook. It was our family last year and this year standing almost in the same spot. I'm thinking we might just make this a yearly Father's Day tradition. It'll only get more fun as the boys get older! You can read HERE and HERE about our trip there last year. It is hard to believe that Cruz had just turned two and Ben was just two months old. Time flies when you're having fun!
We returned home later that afternoon, unpacked, and spent the rest of the day just hanging out. We cooked on the grill for supper and ended our meal with a slice of frozen peanut butter pie. YUM! That night we watched Game 5 of the NBA finals. We love watching basketball so it was a fun way to end the day.
If there is one thing I am most crazy about it's my little family. I love being together and taking time to celebrate special occasions together. We cannot thank God enough for making us a mom and dad!
