Greetings from Guatemala ! May seems like the hottest month we have spent in our lives, but in spite of the heat we have been quite busy. We attended two anniversary services. We attended an inauguration service for a new mission. We attended a baptismal service for ten new believers. We attended a pastor’s conference. We attended a day long service honoring K’ekchi’ Baptist women where several hundred ladies from all over the Peten (northern Guatemala ) were present. I had my first Mother’s Day and we celebrated Cruz’s first birthday. We also had tile put down in our kitchen and living room and we are enjoying it very much! We have had some down time as well and that has been nice. It has been a full, fun month.
We are currently experiencing some unrest in our part of Guatemala and would appreciate your praying for us over the next few weeks. We are in week two of a month long siege and because of that we have not been traveling around quite as much here lately. We are not in any immediate danger, but just do not want to find ourselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. Your prayers for this situation would be greatly appreciated!
We are currently on a vision trip with another missionary couple visiting an unreached area in Guatemala. We are trying to see about possible work in that area. Please pray over the next few days not only for our safety of travel but that the Lord would show us if this might be a possible future connection. We will report more details at a later time.
This month we will also be traveling into Guatemala City and on to Antigua to attend a mission meeting with other missionaries that serve in this part of the world with our organization. We are looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and spending time with the other missionaries.
As always, we thank you for your continued love, support, and prayers! Until next time…
Sending our love,
David , Regina, and Cruz
