Encuentro Indigena 2011

The missions conference last week in Coban went very well.  We appreciate all who prayed for it.  There were national pastors and leaders present from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.  They were each challenged to look beyond their family, town, region, and even country to realize that there are other groups who have yet to hear the gospel.
Here are a few photos from the week-

There were worship services each night.

These are our K'ekchi' leaders from Peten in a small group discussion being led by Dick and Lahoma Greenwood.  We had five present from the Peten Association.

On Wednesday everyone was assigned a different K'ekchi' village and they traveled there to visit and be a part of the evening worship service.  Some stayed overnight and others returned to Coban.  The next day each person was given a chance to share about their experience.

On Friday everyone was able to share personal/ ministry prayer requests and then the group as a whole prayed over them.  It was an encouraging time for all of them.

Each person was given a certificate during one of the evening services.
This is Bro. Martin getting his certificate.  He is the president of the Peten K'ekchi' pastors.

They were all proud of their certificates!

Pray for us as we continue to take this message to the K'ekchi' leaders, pastors, and churches. Pray that God would call out some of our K'ekchi' brothers to go and make disciples among other people groups.
