Last Tuesday we made what has become our weekly trip into Santa Elena. This trip was mainly to buy groceries. It was our first trip to the store since having our refrigerator so there was a good bit we needed to buy. We planned the trip to arrive in time for lunch. There is a Pizza Hut, Burger King, and Pollo Campero in town but we also have a few favorite places we like to eat in Flores. It was a beautiful sunny day so we decided to eat on the island and enjoy views like this while eating our meal-

We enjoyed grilled chicken, black beans, boiled potatoes, guacamole, and tortillas. It was YUMMY! To wash it down we both had fruit liquados (smoothies). I had strawberry and David had a mixture of banana and pineapple. We love these drinks and order them often. I brought a smoothie maker back from the States and have been making them at home a good bit too.
Another thing we like about eating here is that you can sit by the water and watch the fish swim around. I don't think Cruz understood it, but we tried to show him the fish anyway.

We would tear small pieces of our tortillas off and feed it to them. It was fun to watch them swarm it.

Afterwards we did buy our groceries and headed back home. It will be a weekly trip we'll be making and I'll be looking forward to it each week. It will be fun to go eat, shop, and spend the day together.
