Our bundle of joy turns 5 months old today!!!
Where has the time gone?
What has he been up to lately?
* He is wearing some 3/6 month clothes and some 6-9 month clothes* He is are wearing a size 3 diaper
* He is wearing a size 2 shoe
* His eyes are blue/ gray
* His hair is starting to grow back (he still has a strip of hair along his neck). Right now it is blonde/ light
brown.
* He is still nursing exclusively. At his four month check-up the doctor said he was "fat enough" and said
not to start him on solids yet. We plan to start sometime between 5-6 months. He has started watching
us eat and acts like he wants to eat with us. We hope he continues to be a good eater when he starts
eating real food.
* He sucks on everything! He loves to eat his hands, and started sucking his toes this month. Just this past
week he has started sucking his bottom lip. This drives his Daddy crazy.
* We started putting him in his walker to play and he likes it. The first day we put him in it I didn't expect
for him to move in it, but just to sit and play. I was cooking dinner and turned to look at him and he had
moved across the floor. I couldn't believe it.
* He still sits in his bouncy seat, but mostly only when we are eating meals.
* He has started rolling over, but hasn't quite mastered it completely.
* This past month he took his first airplane ride and made his first trip to the States. We took a two week
vacation and took him home to meet our families. We all had a wonderful time! He did great on the
flights and travels very well!
* With the exception of a week long growth spurt he had this month, he sleeps very well. His normal sleep
time is 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. He will then wake up to eat and will go right back to sleep for an hour or
two. He takes a good morning and afternoon nap as well.
* He smiles all.the.time. He is such a happy baby. He recently started laughing out loud a good bit. His
Daddy can make him laugh like no one else. It is the sweetest sound to our ears.
* He can sit up with assistance, but hasn't learned to sit on his own just yet.
* He still gets the hiccups often. If he laughs much, he will always get them.
* He loves to be outdoors
* He likes to stare at the t.v. and loves music
* He makes a moaning sound when he gets tired. It sounds like an engine revving up. * He still takes a pacifier when he's tired and wants to take a nap, but not at night.
* He doesn't mind being held by any and everybody. You can just pass him from person to person and he
just eats up the attention. We hope he will always have a social personality.
* When he gets really tired, he only wants mama. I love that! :-)
* He plays well by himself and can entertain himself well.
* He watches us all the time. He loves interaction and will grunt or make a noise to get our attention.
* He is a mama's baby but definitely a daddy's boy. When he's hungry or tired he wants mama. When
he's full and rested it's all about playing with daddy.
He is growing way to fast and changing constantly. We are enjoying watching him grow, learning to do new things, and exploring his world. Every month he just gets more fun to be around. He has definitely made our lives sweeter!
Happy 5 Month Birthday, Cruz! Mama and Daddy adore you!
Look how much he's changed in 5 short months-
Our perfect gift from God!
What a cutie. I have been following your blog for about a month now. My family has been in the process to bring our sweet daughter home from Guatemala for 3 years now. We love Guatemala and have visited 12 times. Your pictures always make me feel like I am there with her. We also have a son who was born June 4th. He and Cruz are not too far off in age. Can't wait to see more pics.
